Terms and conditions
Please read these terms carefully before using our website, apps or banking services.
Last updated: July 2026
1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of the Lloyds Merchant Bank website, mobile applications and Internet Banking service (together, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.
Banking products such as accounts, loans, cards and insurance are subject to separate product terms provided when you apply. Where there is a conflict, the product terms prevail for that product.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and resident in the United Kingdom unless we agree otherwise in writing. You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your details up to date. We may refuse or withdraw access if you breach these terms or applicable law.
3. Internet Banking registration and security
You are responsible for keeping your User ID, password, PIN and any device used to access the Services secure. You must not share credentials with anyone, including persons claiming to work for us. You must tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
We may suspend access if we detect suspicious activity, repeated failed log-in attempts, or a security threat. We are not liable for losses arising from your failure to keep credentials secure, except where UK law requires otherwise.
4. Permitted use
You may use the Services only for lawful personal or business banking purposes. You must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other customers' accounts
- Introduce viruses, malware or harmful code
- Use automated tools to scrape content or overload our infrastructure
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation
- Use the Services for fraudulent, abusive or illegal activity
5. Information on this website
Content is provided for general information. While we take care to ensure accuracy, we do not warrant that information is complete, current or free from error. Rates, fees and product features may change without notice on this site; binding terms are those in your product agreement.
Nothing on the Services constitutes investment, tax or legal advice. You should seek independent professional advice before making financial decisions.
6. Intellectual property
All content, trademarks, logos and software on the Services are owned by or licensed to Lloyds Merchant Bank and protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages for personal use only. You must not reproduce, distribute or modify content without our prior written consent.
7. Availability and maintenance
We aim to keep the Services available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance, upgrades and events outside our control may cause temporary disruption. We will try to give advance notice of significant planned downtime where practicable.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data arising from use of the Services. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
Our total liability to you for claims relating to the Services in any twelve-month period is limited to £100, except where a higher limit is required by regulation or your product terms.
9. Third-party links and services
The Services may link to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their content, security or privacy practices. Use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be published on this page with a revised date. Where required, we will notify you by email, post or secure message. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to your statutory rights. If you have a complaint, please follow our complaints procedure before pursuing legal action where appropriate.
