Help and guidance

Accessibility

We are committed to making banking accessible for customers with disabilities, impairments and additional needs.

Our commitment

We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across our website, mobile app, telephone banking and branches where practicable. We review our services regularly and welcome feedback from customers and disability advocates.

How we can support you

Screen reader support

Our website and app are tested with common screen readers. Semantic headings, labels and focus order help you navigate forms and account information.

Keyboard navigation

Core journeys can be completed using a keyboard alone. Visible focus indicators show where you are on the page.

Large text and contrast

Use browser zoom or device settings to enlarge text. Our design uses sufficient colour contrast for readability.

Alternative formats

Large print, braille and audio statements; printed terms in accessible formats on request.

Relay services

Relay UK (dial 18001 before our number), text relay and SignVideo for deaf and hard-of-hearing customers.

Branch assistance

Step-free access at selected locations, hearing loops and private meeting rooms. Ask for a longer appointment if needed.

Screen reader users

We use descriptive page titles, landmark regions and form labels so screen readers can announce content clearly. If you encounter unlabelled controls or confusing announcements, please let us know the page address and what you were trying to do.

Keyboard navigation

You can tab through links, buttons and form fields on our website. Press Enter or Space to activate controls. Skip links at the top of each page let you jump to main content. Our mobile app supports external keyboard navigation on supported devices.

Large text and display settings

Increase text size through your browser (usually Ctrl/Cmd and +) or your device accessibility settings. Our responsive layout reflows content so you can read without horizontal scrolling at up to 200% zoom.

Alternative formats

We can provide:

  • Large-print statements and letters
  • Braille documents on request
  • Audio statements on CD or digital download
  • Product terms and key facts in accessible formats
